Psychiatrist with a PhD from King’s College London, Rodrigo is a lecturer at UNIFESP and King’s College London, and the author of several books, including Saúde Mental na Escola – O que os Educadores Precisam Saber. He received the Legislative Merit (the highest commendation of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies) for his work in mental health education carried out in public schools and for all the work to combat the stigmas surrounding the theme. Research coordinator at the National Institute of Developmental Psychiatry and coordinator of Project Connection – minds of the future, he has hundreds of scientific publications in the area of childhood and adolescence.
Olga Paz is a Geographer (USP) and bilingual educator working in early childhood education, elementary school II, high school and didactic material production. She was an educator at Comunidade de Aprendizagens ncora and Projeto ncora, using active methodologies and pedagogical project inspired by Escola da Ponte (Portugal). She is a mother and psychoanalyst in training since 2020.
Luciana Maria da Silva has over 10 years of experience in administrative and financial area of companies, institutes and government agencies. In the last years, she has deepened her knowledge in specificities of third sector, leading audit processes, project accountability, receiving national and international donations, and supporting fundraising actions, among others.
Psychologist graduated from USP and doctor in experimental psychology from the same institution, post-doc in mental health prevention from EPM-UNIFESP, Henrique is a psychology professor, national scientific coordinator of the Art of Living Association, CRO and professor at Brazilian Institute of Neuromarketing and Neuroeconomics. At Ame sua Mente, Henrique is a member of training and content production team, in addition to being responsible for the technology front.
Psychiatrist, specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (UFRGS). PhD candidate in Psychiatry at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Organizer of the book “Saúde Mental na Escola: o que os educadores devem saber”, released in 2015, by Artmed publisher. Lecturer, consultant in educational institutions and clinical psychiatrist. He has worked as a clinical researcher for Recognition and Intervention Program in Mental States of Risk (PRISMA) at Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) and as a member of the Technological Addictions Study Group (GEAD) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Gustavo is a researcher and associate member of Ame sua Mente.
With over 20 years of experience in technology companies and banking institutions, Denise holds a degree in public relations, complemented by a minor in history, and a graduate degree in Communication Theory from Faculdade Cásper Líbero. Six years ago, she discovered that her daughter was dyslexic, and immersed herself in studies about Learning Disorders. She completed her pedagogical complementation and internship in public network of São Paulo City and State. At the Institute, Denise supports the social programs management.
Five years of experience in third sector, focused on developing socio-environmental projects. Technical and theoretical support in developing training courses on topics related to the environment, mental health, and the third sector.
Master’s degree candidate at Graduate Program in Social Change and Political Participation (ProMuSPP) and Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of São Paulo (EACH-USP).
Psychologist, with post-doctoral and doctoral degrees in Psychiatry and Medical Psychology from Escola Paulista de Medicina of Universidade Federal de São Paulo (EPM/UNIFESP) and Kings College London, MSc in Substance Misuse from Sussex University in UK and MSc in Neuroscience from UFRGS.
Clarice is a researcher and affiliated professor at psychiatry department of UNIFESP and an expert consultant for Ame Sua Mente Institute. Author of several scientific articles and reviewer of the main national and international scientific journals in the fields of mental health and substance use disorder. She works in epidemiology field and prevention of drug use in adolescence.
Professional with over 20 years of experience in business area in companies of technology and information technology segment. Claudia transitioned her career to the third sector to be more aligned with her “ikigai” and for believing that education is the way to reduce social inequality. With a degree in Business Administration from FEA-USP and in Law from FMU, she joined the Institute in June 2021 to become part of the Compass Project Team. A Gemini, Claudia loves learning about new subjects and getting to know different places. Reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends are her favorite leisure activities.
Professional with over 20 years of experience in program and project management, graduated in Psychology, Claudia works in developping processes, architecture and organizational performance for education, especially in third sector. Claudia has solid experience in identifying and supporting the implementation of initiatives for public policies with project feasibility studies, process systematization in civil society environments and sectoral spheres. She has participated in initiatives with national scope to promote positive impacts, observing their causes and legacies, both in the personal and social spheres. Claudia is the social program manager at Ame sua Mente.
Psychologist, PhD in Mental Health from the School of Medicine, University of São Paulo (USP), Post-Doctorate in Psychiatry and Medical Psychology from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Specialization in Public Health and Specialization in Psychoanalysis from the University of Franca. Senior Researcher at the Research Unit on Alcohol and Drugs (UNIAD) at UNIFESP, National Survey Collaborator on Alcohol and Drugs (LENAD) and the Survey of Scenes of Capital Use (LECUCA). Author of several scientific articles and book chapters related to health promotion and chemical dependence. Responsible for screening instruments validation for harmful use and dependence on psychoactive substances. She works as a clinical psychologist in private practice and as a specialist in the training team and associate member of the Ame sua Mente Institute.
Passionate about life and bothered by social inequalities, Andrea repositioned her career in Marketing for Sustainability and Diversity 15 years ago, to inspire people and companies to be protagonists of social and environmental transformations. An expert in Sustainability and Inclusion, she has worked over the last years as a Corporate Sustainability and Diversity & Inclusion executive in Latin America for a large multinational company in financial sector. She holds a degree in Education from the University of São Paulo (USP) and specialized in Industrial Marketing and Retail Marketing from FGV and FIA-USP, as well as Social Responsibility and 3rd Sector from CEATS-USP. More recently, she earned an Administration MBA with emphasis on Management from FGV and a specialization in Health Promotion from Medical School of USP. She took on executive direction of Ame Sua Mente Institute because she believes in the great power of social transformation of Civil Society Organizations.
Leadership (CLP), Social Innovation (Amani Institute), Extension in Learning Communities (UFSCAR) and currently attending postgraduate course in Waldorf High School. Experience as a High School and CASA foundation Educational projects coordinator in third sector working with teacher training in the states of PA, BA, SP, ES, MS. Today André works as a teacher trainer in Self-Knowledge and Mental Health facilitator for Ame Sua Mente Institute.
Gola is an artist and CCO at Lew’Lara\TBWA agency. As an advertiser, he has been recognized by several awards in national and international festivals. Among them, highlights 78 Lions at Cannes Lions Festival. Since 2013, he has been bringing to life the character “Suadinho” on blank pages, social networks, stickers (over 1.4 billion views on GIPHY), products collabs and brands and urban interventions in different locations around the world.
Psychologist and educator graduated from PUC-SP, specialist in Psychology in Women’s Health Care from UNIFESP and Master in Educational Psychology from Columbia University. She has worked as a hospital psychologist at São Paulo Hospital, as a kindergarten and EJA (Youth and Adult Education) teacher, as a community action project coordinator, and as an educational coordinator responsible for families guidance and high school students at Escola Móbile, in São Paulo. She also worked as Associação Nova Escola columnist and as Teacher’s Mental Health project consultant. Textbook Author Se Liga na Vida (Editora Moderna, PNLD 2021) and editorial manager of Semente Program, Ana Carolina is a trainer and training coordinator at Ame sua Mente Institute.
Graduated in Law from USP-SP and in journalism from Faculdade Cásper Líbero, with expertise in Branding from ESPM, she has extensive experience in corporate communication, crisis management, and reputation building. She worked for ten years at Península Participações, as institutional communication area manager and Península Institute. During this period, she was also responsible for the communication strategy of businessman Abilio Diniz, founding partner of Peninsula Participações. She migrated to third sector in 2020 and, since May 2021, she works as communication and advocacy manager at Ame Sua Mente Institute.
Leticia is co-founder of Camino Education and director of Camino School, she has vast experience in the development and implementation of teaching methodologies, curriculum and preparation of teachers for the 21st century, responsible for adapting the Socio-Emotional Compass Program and Post-Graduate course coordinator in Integral Teacher Development at Singularidades Institute. She was Curriculum, Assessment and Teacher Training Director at SOMOS Educação and President of Instituto Somos, developing strategies for large-scale projects to support partner institutions and schools in their challenge to transform with quality. Leticia holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Mental health for Cristiana is living well. She believes that self-knowledge is the basic premise to go through life’s ups and downs and find meaning along the way. She feels happy contributing, learning, and building things that are relevant to the world. Married over 20 years and mother of two teenage boys, she is also graduated from FEA USP, with an MBA from INSEAD, France; serves as a member of Raia Drogasil Board, Vaga Lume Association, SempreFea Association.
Marco understands that the balance of various life activities – meditation, sports practice, psychotherapeutic and psychiatric analysis, sleep care, and self-knowledge – it is the path to mental health. Graduated in business administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and with a career developed in the financial market, he was a partner of Banco Matrix and Banco Pactual, besides founding SIP Capital. Over the past few years he has focused on fostering and investing in entrepreneurs and finance, education, and health sectors startups.
O Projeto Cuca Legal foi uma iniciativa ligada ao Departamento de Psiquiatria da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) que visava à promoção da saúde mental e à prevenção de transtornos mentais em ambientes de ensino por meio do desenvolvimento de programas de intervenção baseados em evidências científicas.
O projeto contava com uma uma equipe de especialistas das áreas da neurociência, psicologia, psiquiatria e educação com grande experiência no campo da saúde mental. A qualificação profissional, além da diversidade, da extensão das intervenções realizadas e do caráter criativo, responsável e humano das condutas, foram diferenciais nos 12 anos de vida do projeto.
Idealizado pelo Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Bressan, em 2006, e coordenado por Adriana Fóz até 2017, o Cuca Legal passou a ser uma referência na área, fundamentado na premissa de que a disseminação adequada de informações sobre saúde mental é fundamental para o desenvolvimento de fatores protetores que levam ao bem-estar e à redução dos fatores de risco associados ao surgimento e complicações dos transtornos mentais.
Mas o que “disseminação adequada” significa?
A disseminação de informações adequada sobre saúde mental é aquela que ocorre em ações:
1 – Que priorizem a saúde como uma condição muito mais prevalente que a doença;
2 – Com o enfoque no empoderamento dos educadores, e não na sobrecarga ou na terceirização de tarefas;
3 – Que levem em consideração o fortalecimento da rede multidisciplinar, em detrimento da medicalização, por meio do desenvolvimento de uma visão preventiva e esclarecida dos recursos disponíveis e comprovadamente eficazes;
4 – Baseadas em evidências científicas, sempre que existam dados disponíveis;
5 – Customizadas caso a caso, de acordo com as necessidades, recursos e outras circunstâncias específicas da instituição solicitante;
6 – Cientes do impacto do estigma, buscamos a humanização da saúde mental e das suas subjetividades, com a finalidade de reduzir a “cultura do rótulo” e os equívocos de conduta decorrentes desse paradigma.
Com convicção desses parâmetros, boa parte do processo de formulação de nossas atividades é dedicada à tradução de conteúdos de alta complexidade para uma linguagem acessível e pertinente à prática dos educadores assim como ao desenvolvimento de métodos que otimizem a apreensão do conhecimento abordado.
Em 2012, o Cuca Legal firmou parceria com o grupo canadense Teen Mental Health (www.teenmentalhealth.org), referência mundial no cenário de intervenções em disseminação de conhecimentos em saúde mental, com projetos no Canadá, Estados Unidos, Portugal e em países do continente africano e asiático. Dessa aliança, surgiram duas capacitações pioneiras em saúde mental para educadores junto à Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo, nos anos de 2013, 2014 e 2015, que alcançaram mais de 700 educadores. Ainda em parceria com a Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo, em 2015, o Cuca Legal desenvolveu um projeto que atingiu professores de 17 escolas do estado com enfoque na promoção de Competências Socioemocionais.
Além das iniciativas junto à Secretaria da Educação de São Paulo, o Cuca Legal atuou em diversos cenários, desenvolvendo ações customizadas de acordo com o conteúdo público (educadores, pais e alunos), número de encontros e recursos disponíveis.
Ainda em 2015, um marco para a história do Cuca Legal foi o lançamento do livro “Saúde Mental na Escola: o que os educadores devem saber”, organizado pelos psiquiatras Gustavo M. Estanislau e Rodrigo A. Bressan, com a coautoria de pesquisadores renomados no Brasil e no mundo nas respectivas áreas abordadas na obra, e, finalmente, com a revisão de educadores visando a um resultado final cientificamente apurado, mas ainda assim de linguagem acessível .
Atualmente, “Saúde Mental na Escola: o que os educadores devem saber” tem sido muitas vezes citado como um “livro de cabeceira” por educadores no Brasil inteiro, que reconhecem a importância do assunto nas salas de aula.
O expertise de Lara D’Avila em criação de conteúdo e colaboração com marcas começou muito antes de ser aquilo que chamam de “influenciadora digital”. Formada em Marketing e Publicidade, Lara atuou como planejamento para marcas como Nike, Mr. Cat e Globosat, Fasano. Como Relações Públicas, trabalhou para Arezzo e Pernod Ricard. Atualmente, usa seus canais nas redes sociais como plataforma de conteúdo. Feminista em formação, aprendiz de tantas coisas, seu grande desejo é inspirar as mulheres a cuidarem da sua saúde mental. E a crescerem juntas.
Para Pedro, cuidar da saúde mental é ter boas conversas com sua esposa – também psiquiatra, cuidar da sua glicemia, jogar futebol e estar com os amigos. Pedro é psiquiatra, mestre, doutor e pós-doc pelo Departamento de Psiquiatria da Escola Paulista de Medicina da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (EPM/UNIFESP). Também é o primeiro PhD formado pelo programa Tripartite de Pós-graduação em Psiquiatria do Desenvolvimento das universidades UNIFESP/USP/UFRGS. Durante o doutorado, atuou como pesquisador no Mood Brain & Development Unit (MBDU) do National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) em Bethesda, EUA. É vice coordenador do Projeto Conexão, do Instituto Nacional da Psiquiatria do Desenvolvimento (INPD), autor de mais de 90 artigos indexados no Pubmed/Medline, coautor do capítulo “Transtornos do humor – depressão e transtorno bipolar” do livro Saúde Mental na Escola – O que os Educadores devem Saber (Artmed). Atualmente, conduz pesquisas com foco nos mecanismos neurais associados com a depressão na adolescência.
Cintia acredita que saúde mental é uma questão de manter a mente quieta (nem que seja só às vezes…), a espinha ereta e o coração tranquilo. Comunicadora Social pela PUC/RS e consultora, Cintia desenvolve estratégias de construção de marcas, negócios e conteúdos. Cintia foi sócia e CSO da AlmapBBDO, agência na qual atuou por 19 anos liderando projetos e desenvolvendo metodologias de pesquisa para marcas do mercado nacional e internacional.

O contexto escolar é um espaço estratégico e privilegiado na implementação de políticas públicas para jovens, especialmente em relação à promoção de saúde mental e prevenção de transtornos. A partir dos novos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais, o tema da saúde mental passou a ser integrado como transversal, possibilitando assim uma abordagem mais ampla dos diversos aspectos vinculados ao processo de saúde individual e coletiva. Nesse sentido, é muito importante a formação dos educadores nesta área, uma vez que eles exercem papel fundamental no desenvolvimento das crianças e jovens.
Já em Advocacy visamos combater os estigmas, preconceitos e a busca tardia por tratamento através do letramento e da conscientização da sociedade brasileira sobre a cultura da promoção, prevenção e manejo da saúde mental.
